Putting The Aganorsa Leaf Aniversaro Grand Toro To The Test

Aganorsa Leaf · Toro

Tasting notes

First third

Opens with a bold wave of signature Aganorsa baking spices and black pepper. This quickly settles into an ultra-smooth, creamy profile highlighted by notes of toasted cedar, roasted almonds, and a faint hint of dark fruit sweetness. [1, 2, 3]

Second third

The smoke transitions into a classic "café con leche" profile. Heavy notes of espresso bean, warm cocoa, and leather take over, offering an incredibly dense, chewy texture with very little harshness.

Final third

The cigar finishes dark and savory. The sweet cocoa notes morph into bitter baker's chocolate and heavy oak, while a sharper black pepper and red pepper heat emerges on the retrohale.

Pairs with

Intensely dark and sweet, leading with heavy notes of espresso, dark chocolate, and warm cocoa. It transitions into balanced undercurrents of leather, oak, and a lingering peppery spice

Burn: excellent and highly reliable

Draw: Moving past the first half-inch, the draw opens up to near-perfection. The resistance settles into a highly satisfying rhythm that allows you to easily control the temperature of the cherry.

Construction: The wrappers (whether the five-year-aged Corojo '99 or the oily San Andrés Maduro) are applied tightly with minimal veins and incredibly smooth seams.
